Before I came here to the US, I have my own image of the US as seen from many movies which full of tall buildings; however, it's not like what I had imagined. I totally forgot that the US is so large and has a lot of cities, so not all the cities will be full of tall buildings.
I have to stay with my cousins in La Puente, which is about 21 miles away from CSUF. None of the buildings in this city is higher than 3 floors, so it's not what I had expected to be. However, the city is quiet and easy to drive, so I don't have to spend much time to drive from one place to another. Another thing that I don't like here is the sunlight is very strong. In Thailand, the weather is always hot but if I compare the intensity of the sunlight of my home city and here, the sun here is far more stronger.
So far, it seems like the only impressions I have here are easy driving and quiet atmosphere, and they haven't changed yet. There are still a lot of things to be learned and discovered in the US.
When I have complained about California weather, my friends in U.S. have always asked me back about our weather, and they have never believed that the weather in California is stronger that the weather in Thailand. However, it is true because our country has humid, but here is too dry.

I agree with you that the intensity of sunshine is much stronger. Thus, this is why the eyes of native american people are so deep. I cannot find the reason, now you find the answer.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I came here, I also surprised that Why Cali didn't have many high buildings and subway. And now I know the answer. the reason is the earthquake
ReplyDeleteYes, it is true that we have a lot of low buildings especially compared to other parts of the world. However, you will see some high buildings in other cities; for instance, Los Angeles. :o)
