Topic #9: What's Next?

     After this fall semester, I will be studying in Master's Degree in Information System if I can pass the business writing exam. I want to get into the grad school as soon as possible because I want to finish my Master's degree as fast as I can. Some of my friends already finished their Master's and got a good job. This made me feel bad about myself since they already advanced a lot in their life but I still can't even get into grad school.
     For this semester, I think I have learned and improved my English skills a lot especially in composition. I didn't set any goal before I came here because I didn't think I have to study in ALP before(I already passed TOEFL iBT before I came here). But somehow I'm here, so everything I got from this program is considered as "profits" for me.
     For the future goal, I have only one goal for now which is to be able to go into Master's Degree and can study without any problem. God bless me.
     I don't want to believe that this is the last blog for this class in this semester. I still remembered the first class that I met Prof May, and I enjoyed this class very much. I want to thanks Prof May for being active and keeping the lesson interesting all the time. And thanks to all the class mate for giving constructive comments in my blog. I hope to see you all again in the future, and don't hesitate to say "Hi!" if we meet again someday... : )

Topics #8: Senses

     If I had lose one of my five senses, I would choose to lose "taste". First of all, sight is the most important because you will not be able to go anywhere easily when you are blind. Imagine that all you could see is darkness...It is the worst case if you ask me. Smell is also one of my choice to choose if I have to lose one because I might be good if I do not have to smell something smelly. However, smell is still important since it let me know if there are some kind of pollution around that area, so I can avoid or get out from there such as someone is smoking or pollution gas from cars. For the taste, I think it is not necessary to have taste since if I do not have any taste, I still be able to live in this world. I do not have to worry about food taste anymore because everything tastes the same. It will be very easy to control my weight because I have no reason to overeat. Sweets, candies or chocolate will be tasteless. Bacons, cheese, fries, and all of my favorite food will also be tasteless and the list goes on. Moreover, I can eat vegetables which are good for my health without any problem because now I hate the taste of many many vegetables. It is like I'm eating tree leaves and chewing chlorophyll...yuck! In the end, I can just eat to live, not live to eat. haha

Topic #7: What Would You UN-invent?

     In my honesty opinion, the thing I want it to be un-invented is an online game called "Ragnarok". Ragnarok is a famous Korean Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game(MMORPG). I must say that I had been addicted to this game and it really ruined my life. Before I addicted to this games, my grade at high school was exceptional. I even got the 2nd place of the class. After some of my friend introduced me to this, my grade quickly went down the hill. I wasted many hours of my school life to this. The game updates regularly and every time it brings new monsters, items and maps to explore which easily attract me to play it. By the time I realized that this game is killing me slowly, I was already in 3rd years of my university life. Of course my GPA for the first 2 years was very bad, but after I successfully gave up the game, I got 3.0+.
     This game was considered a legend in Thailand because it's the first online game that had Thai server and still alive until now. Many games that came after Ragnarok had been closed or shut down already.The game itself brought me a lot of fun. I made many new friends from this game, but it affected my academic life too much. If this game never ever existed, my life would be a lot better than this. XD

Topic #6: Time Travel

     I have interested in the concept of time travelling for a long time. Every movie that has this concept can easily take my money because I like the idea and I want to go back in time too. If I could go back in time, I would go back to the time when I was studying in the primary school. At that time, I did't have to care about my future, jobs or whatever. Just enjoying my everyday life with my friends and playing games, that would be great, isn't it?
     Back to the topic, other people might want to witness wars in the past, but I couldn't find it interesting to watch people killing each other. If I could go back in time and witness any single event in the history, I would go to the period that Apollo11 was being launched. I found myself interested in reading things related to outer space as many things are still a mystery. Hence, Apollo11 launching was a big step for exploring outer space. As anyone have known that Apollo11 was the first spaceship to land on the moon, but many rumors said that the Apollo11 landing on the moon was fake!
     There are a lot of clues and hypothesis that are believed to be true and prove that Apollo11 never land on the moon. I have watched a documentary about this topic and they can gave many convincing reasons and proofs that Apollo11 landing on the moon was just a scene in Hollywood.
     This issue intrigued me for many years now. It would be nice to be able to sit on the moon and watch the Apollo11 landing with my own eyes, or found out that the whole event was just a set up scene in Hollywood.
     However, I don't want to disturb or alter the past as it may create unexpected events that we will never know, so if I found out that it was fake, I would keep it to myself.

Topic #5: Pet Peeves

     Usually, I'm not the kind of a person that gets annoyed easily because I have a calm personality. However, I discovered it after that time when I was in 4th year of my University. I was having a midterm exam, and one of my friend started waving her leg. I never get annoyed by this behavior, but this time my friend waved too hard that her leg almost hit her own table. I tried to focus on my paper, but I failed because she swang her leg pretty high and continuously. I tried looking away, but I still saw it at the edge of my eyes. I wanted to signal her to stop doing what she was doing, but I was afraid I would get caught as cheating; moreover, I could got and F for that subject. I ended up covering one side of my face for the rest of the examination, and that affected my efficiency in doing the exam too. Cursed her!
     I had never thought I would have a pet peeve, but this friend proved it to me. By the way, it's the only pet peeve I have for now, and I wish it will still be the only one in the future.
    

Topic #4: I Am Beautiful/Handsome, but...

     If I could change one of my physical appearance, I would increase my height. It is always my dream to increase my height because I'm only 163cm tall. Many people; if first met, often think that I'm a child studying in a highschool and I don't like it. In my home country, it is still acceptable to be this tall because many women are shorter than me, but here in the US is quite different. Both men and women here are mostly very tall and that makes me feel a bit sad.
     Increasing the height is not a thing that can change too easily unlike plastic surgery. I have heard that there is a way to stretch the bone but it will cause a lot of pain, so I'm not planning to do it anytime soon. Instead, I just accept the truth and live with it.

Topic #3: I Speak...Chinese!!?

     If I could instantly fluent in one other language, I would pick Chinese. There are many reasons that make me choose this language without any hesitation.
     First, Chinese people are everywhere; for example, the majority of the students here at ALP are Chinese and the same goes to other Universities. Second, China plays a big role in worldwide business. A lot of products are made in China because you pay less but get the same amount, so if I want to start a new business in China like other big companies, It will be easier because I'm fluent in Chinese. Another reason is my ancestors are Chinese. My grandmother always speaks Chinese to me and it's very sad because I can understand none of them. My mother used to tell me to practice some of it but I refused, so now I'm regretting but the past cannot be changed.
     As a result, Chinese will be my next language to study if I have time to do so because I can use it anywhere that has Chinese people and they are everywhere.
